Favorite food: A juicy medium rare ribeye. Mexican, too.
Favorite college team or teams: I grew up in Kansas City, so the Royals, the Chiefs, University of Kansas are huge to me. But I do love the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I spent 15 years working and I certainly cheer for the Charlotte teams.
Most memorable round of golf so far: In 2004, I played with Dean Smith, Roy Williams and Tar Heel assistant coach Joe Holladay at Old Chatham in Durham. It was Coach Williams’ first round of golf after being an assistant coach on the Olympic team under Coach Larry Brown.
How many golf courses have you played in your life so far? You also have a wonderful golf ball collection from some courses: I didn’t start collecting early enough. I like to keep balls from all top-100 courses or quality resort courses I play. I’ve got well over 100 balls.
All-time favorite movie: Shawshank Redemption
Must-watch TV during the week: I am not much of a TV watcher. I primarily have it on ESPN. I did binge- watch “Narcos” and “El Chapo” on Netflix over the holidays.
What is your focus during your first year on the job? My primary focus—at this point-- is to increase tournament revenue so that we can continue to assist charitable organizations in the area but in a more widespread manner. I am honored to have a group of staff members who have worked on this tournament since its beginning and will be learning a lot from them as we continue to fine tune an already amazing event.
Other than Charlotte, what is the best place you have visited:I love Hilton Head and Vail if staying in the United States.
What would be the perfect vacation? I am going to Scotland on a golf trip this summer. I also enjoy anywhere warm with a beach and great golf courses.
How many times have you attended the Wells Fargo Championship? I have attended four times and love what a classy event it is. My favorite places to watch were the back of No. 7 and No. 8 tee then I would move to No. 17 tee area overlooking 14, 16 and 17.
